Exail has announced the launch of production of the sixth steering console for the JangBogo III programme, marking another significant milestone in its more than decade-long collaboration with the Korean Navy. This new phase underscores the continued confidence placed in Exail’s technological and industrial expertise.

Since 2014, Exail has designed, manufactured, and delivered five complete steering consoles. Construction of the sixth system is scheduled to begin in 2026, with commissioning planned for 2027. These advanced piloting systems are powered by Opsys, Exail’s integrated computer that acts as the technological core, ensuring precise, reliable, and scalable control.

Each console requires nearly two years of coordinated work across Exail’s electronics, software, mechanical, and integration teams. Beyond delivering hardware, Exail provides full lifecycle support, from integration to onboard commissioning, ensuring long-term knowledge transfer for operational crews.

“Building a steering console is both a technological and human challenge. Each delivery demonstrates the excellence of our expertise and the dedication of our teams,” said Mohammed Tounsi, Product Manager. “In July 2025, the fourth pilot station was successfully commissioned. The teams validated all interfaces with the submarine’s other systems, confirming the robustness and reliability of the solution.”

With 15 pilot stations already in service worldwide, Exail continues to strengthen its position as a trusted partner for international naval forces. The modular, scalable steering consoles provide not just operational interfaces but strategic advantages: by unifying navigation, propulsion, and control systems through the Opsys core, they enhance mission safety, tactical efficiency, and long-term naval autonomy.
