The Singapore Army and the Indian Army have successfully concluded the 14th edition of Exercise Bold Kurukshetra, a bilateral armoured exercise held from 28 July to 3 August 2025 at Jodhpur Cantonment, India.
This year’s exercise brought together soldiers from the 42nd Battalion, Singapore Armoured Regiment and India’s 340th (Independent) Mechanised Brigade and 1st Mechanised Infantry (I MADRAS). Hosted by the Indian Army, the week-long engagement featured a Command Post Exercise and a series of professional exchanges to deepen military cooperation and mutual learning.

During the closing ceremony, Colonel Andy Quek, Deputy Chief Armour Officer of the Singapore Army, emphasised the value of the collaboration:
“Our troops were able to engage in rigorous map planning, share tactics, techniques, and procedures, and most importantly, learn from one another in a meaningful and constructive way. Our soldiers greatly appreciated the sharing from their counterparts in the Indian Army.”
Exercise Bold Kurukshetra is part of the Bilateral Agreement for Joint Army Training and Exercises between Singapore and India. Since its inception in 2005, the exercise has become a cornerstone of military collaboration, reflecting the strong and enduring defence ties between the two nations.
This 2025 edition was particularly significant, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and India. In addition to joint training, both countries maintain regular military cooperation through high-level visits, defence policy dialogues, professional exchanges, and training courses.
