Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos PN, the Commander of the AFP Western Command (WESCOM), along with Brigadier General Antonio Mangoroban Jr. PN(M), the Commander of the 3rd Marine Brigade (3MBde), led the send-off and welcome ceremonies at the Antonio Bautista Air Base (ABAB) Ramp to mark the transition of two Force Reconnaissance Companies (FRCs) of the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC). The troops of 65th FRC, under the command of Captain Jerby Alparaz PN(M), bid farewell as they embarked on their scheduled retraining at the Marine Barracks Gregorio Lim in Ternate, Cavite. Taking their place is the 61st FRC led by Captain John Siamen PN(M).
The 65th FRC had been assigned to the province of Palawan from July 15, 2020 until January 7, 2024. During its tenure, the said company played a vital role in conducting joint and multi-agency operations aimed at neutralizing terrorist groups. Additionally, the 65th FRC provided support for law enforcement operations and effectively controlled territorial borders within WESCOM’s joint operational area.
The two significant activities served as a tribute to the accomplishments of the outgoing unit while welcoming and expressing confidence in the capabilities of its successor. This seamless transition ensures that WESCOM’s commitment to maintaining peace and security within its jurisdiction remains strong and steadfast.
