ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defence technology company, has reinforced its strategic presence in Southeast Asia with the signing of five major agreements and the official inauguration of its Indonesian office during the INDO DEFENCE exhibition in Jakarta.
These agreements, witnessed by senior representatives from both the Indonesian and Turkish defence sectors, mark a significant step forward in ASELSAN’s commitment to joint development, local production, global supply chain integration, and long-term regional engagement.
A landmark agreement with PT LEN Industri—facilitated through DEFEND ID—covers technology transfer and co-production in radar, surveillance, cyber security, and command and control systems. Cooperation with Czech defence conglomerate CSG Group focuses on identifying joint business opportunities, while a teaming agreement with Excalibur Army outlines the integration of ASELSAN systems into the company’s PATRIOT 4×4 vehicles in Indonesia.
Additional partnerships include an agreement with PT PINDAD to jointly develop weapon systems, guidance and fire control technologies, and a collaboration with PT PAL to support naval modernisation and new platform development.
To support these expanding partnerships and enhance local operations, ASELSAN officially opened its Indonesian office during the event. The office will serve as a regional hub for customised solutions, in-country support, and long-term maintenance services.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr Haluk Görgün, Secretary of the Turkish Defence Industries, Ahmet Akyol, ASELSAN President and CEO, and distinguished guests from across the defence industry.
Ahmet Akyol commented on the milestone:
“We are proud to bring ASELSAN’s advanced capabilities and trusted expertise to an important strategic market with the opening of our Jakarta office. This expansion enables us to strengthen relationships, offer localised solutions, and foster sustainable, high-impact partnerships in the region.”
Prof. Dr Haluk Görgün added:
“It is a great honour to witness the launch of ASELSAN Indonesia alongside the signing of key strategic agreements. This office will serve as a bridge of technology, knowledge, and collaboration between our two nations—paving the way for a prosperous future and new achievements in defence innovation.”
