Hanwha Aerospace has signed an executive contract worth approximately US$4 billion (PLN 14 billion) with the Polish Armament Agency for the supply of Chunmoo CGR-080 guided missiles. The agreement was signed on 29 December at the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw.
The contract represents the third executive agreement under Poland’s Homar-K programme and was concluded between the Polish Armament Agency and a consortium led by Hanwha-WB Advanced System — a joint venture between Hanwha Aerospace and Poland’s WB Electronics — together with Hanwha Aerospace.
The CGR-080 is a 239 mm precision-guided missile with a range of 80 km and a circular error probability (CEP) of 15 metres. Using GPS/INS guidance, the missile serves as the core ammunition for Poland’s Homar-K system, the Polish variant of the Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher System.
The agreement was signed by Major General Artur Kuptel, Head of the Armament Agency; Son Jae-il, President and CEO of Hanwha Aerospace; and Piotr Wojciechowski, President of the WB Group. The ceremony was attended by senior Polish and South Korean government and defence officials, underscoring the strategic importance of the programme.
Under the contract, guided missiles will be manufactured at a dedicated production facility in Poland operated by Hanwha-WB Advanced System. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2030.
The initiative includes technology transfer and localisation, integrating Polish industry into the supply chain and strengthening national defence capabilities. The project is expected to create skilled technical jobs and support the development of a sustainable defence industrial ecosystem in Poland.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said the agreement confirmed the strength of Polish–Korean defence cooperation and supported long-term production independence within the Homar-K programme.
Son Jae-il, CEO and President of Hanwha Aerospace, described the contract as a milestone built on trust, reaffirming Hanwha’s commitment to cooperation with the Polish defence industry to deliver both security and economic benefits.
