SA26 EXProm 728x90 Find out more todayLockheed Martin has delivered five new Black Hawk® helicopters to the Philippine Air Force (PAF), marking another milestone in the country’s defence modernisation program. The addition reinforces the Philippines’ position as a key Black Hawk operator in the Asia-Pacific region.

Bill Blair, Vice President and Regional Chief Executive, Asia & India at Lockheed Martin, said the Sikorsky Black Hawk’s proven versatility strengthens both national resilience and joint readiness. “The Black Hawk’s role in disaster response, humanitarian aid, and infrastructure protection has been instrumental in supporting the Filipino people. We remain committed to the PAF mission,” Blair said.

The PAF has already demonstrated the helicopters’ adaptability in major training and operational roles. During Exercise Cope Thunder Philippines 2025, the S-70i Black Hawks flew alongside US Air Force assets in combined field and flight drills. The aircraft were also used in joint naval exercises with the Philippine Navy aboard the BRP Davao del Sur.

Beyond defence, the Black Hawks play a critical role in humanitarian operations. They have been deployed for rapid disaster assessments, transporting relief goods during typhoons, and conducting helibucket operations in firefighting missions—most recently tackling a large blaze in Tondo, Manila.

With this latest delivery, the PAF strengthens its ability to respond to both security challenges and civil emergencies, highlighting the Black Hawk as a vital asset in safeguarding the Philippines.
