Combat-proven ROOSTER system is now NATO-registered, reinforcing trust and compliance with allied defence standards.
Robotican, a leading Israeli developer of autonomous robotic and drone technologies, has announced the successful delivery of dozens of its flagship ROOSTER hybrid drone systems to European special operations forces, intervention units, and infantry teams.
These deliveries mark a significant operational milestone for Robotican. Building on this momentum, the ROOSTER recently received official NATO registration, confirming its compliance with allied defence requirements and further cementing its status as a reliable and combat-proven asset.
The ROOSTER is a compact, hybrid tactical drone that combines aerial agility with robotic ground mobility. It is uniquely engineered for operations in indoor, subterranean, and GPS-denied environments. The drone’s innovative design enables rapid switching between flying and rolling modes, allowing for energy-efficient operations in complex, confined spaces.
Its integrated protective cage allows it to roll across difficult terrain and reach areas inaccessible to traditional UAVs. The system supports missions lasting up to 90 minutes of active operation or 5 hours in standby mode, and uses a robust MESH communication system that lets up to three ROOSTER units operate as a team without relying on external communications.
Equipped with a day/night IR-sensitive camera and visible/IR illuminators, the ROOSTER also supports swappable payloads, including thermal imagers, oxygen detectors, and radiation sensors. These features make it ideal for tactical reconnaissance, urban search and rescue, hazardous materials response, and industrial inspections.
Lightweight and rugged, the ROOSTER is operable by a single user and can be deployed rapidly from a tactical backpack—providing immediate situational awareness while minimising operator exposure.
“The ROOSTER was developed as a strategic response to the growing need for precise intelligence in challenging environments where access is limited and situational awareness is critical,” said Hagai Balshai, CEO of Robotican. “Its adoption by elite European and US special operations forces, as well as the Israeli Ministry of Defense, reflects its proven field value. NATO registration further positions the ROOSTER as a trusted asset for modern allied operations.”
