Milrem Robotics, the world’s leading developer of robotics and autonomous systems, will deliver the largest fleet of THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) to Ukraine as part of a donation from a European government.
This landmark delivery comes amid the deteriorating security situation in Europe, as nations strengthen their support for Ukraine while also boosting cooperation and production across the European defence industrial base.
“The cooperation between our governments and leading defence industry partners underscores how Europe can respond to shared threats with agility and unity,” said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics. “We take pride in contributing to Ukraine’s defence capabilities through our combat-proven THeMIS UGVs.”
The current assembly and delivery arrangement has been designed with scalability in mind, ensuring the potential for additional future deployments. To maximise operational readiness, Milrem Robotics will also provide training for Ukrainian operators in the field.
The THeMIS UGV is a versatile, cost-effective and combat-proven unmanned vehicle platform developed to support dismounted troops and enhance battlefield effectiveness. Already in service or part of robotics programmes in 19 countries, it is the most widely used UGV in its size class.
The new units will join the initial 15 THeMIS UGVs already deployed in Ukraine since 2022, which have proven their combat effectiveness on the battlefield.
This donation highlights Europe’s united commitment to strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities while reinforcing regional and allied security.
