ASELSAN has successfully completed live testing of its YILDIRIM 100 Directed Infrared Countermeasure (DIRCM) system, effectively neutralising infrared-guided missiles armed with live warheads. The test marks a significant milestone in Türkiye’s airborne defence capabilities.
YILDIRIM 100 is designed to detect, track, and neutralise multiple infrared missile threats by directing multi-band laser energy to disrupt their seekers. With its low power consumption and high operational reliability, the system enhances the survivability of both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft in contested airspace.
Featuring a dual-turret design, advanced sensors, and integrated control with missile warning systems, YILDIRIM 100 delivers fast and synchronised responses. Fully compatible with a wide range of platforms, it is engineered to counter both current and emerging missile threats.
“This successful test elevates Türkiye’s laser-based countermeasure technologies to a level achieved by only a few nations globally,” said ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol. “As we mark ASELSAN’s 50th anniversary, this milestone reflects our commitment to innovation and the strength of our indigenous defence solutions.”
The YILDIRIM 100 is set to become a vital asset in modern air combat, offering a mission-ready, self-protection solution for future air operations.
