Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. company, has announced the successful refurbishment, upgrade, and delivery of a Bell 212 helicopter to the Royal Thai Navy (RTN).

The comprehensive upgrade programme aimed to extend the operational life of the RTN’s Bell 212, incorporating improvements to the aircraft’s fuel system, avionics, and paint scheme. The full project — from inspection through to installation — was completed by Bell’s Asia Service Centre in Singapore.

“The Bell 212 has been a cornerstone of the RTN fleet for decades, supporting a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief,” said Chris Schaefer, Vice President, Global Customer Solutions, Bell. “It was an honour to be entrusted by a valued partner in the RTN with the responsibility of supporting their aircraft and ensuring its continued success. Our commitment to the RTN remains unwavering — to unlock the full potential of their fleet while strengthening aviation capabilities across the board.”

To mark the completion of the project, Bell presented a custom crystal plaque to the RTN and the Royal Airport Service (RAS) at the Defense & Security 2025 exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand.

Introduced in 1968, the Bell 212 continues to serve vital missions around the world, including aerial firefighting and law enforcement. Over its 30-year production history, nearly 900 Bell 212 helicopters were built. Its legacy lives on in the Bell 412, a modern evolution of the medium twin-engine rotorcraft.
