Contract covers 12 PT6A-68 engines powering Beechcraft T-6TH Texan II trainer aircraft
Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), a subsidiary of, has signed an Engine Services Agreement to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) support for the Royal Thai Air Force’s (RTAF) fleet of Beechcraft T-6TH Texan II trainer aircraft, powered by PT6A-68 engines.
The agreement is in partnership with Textron Aviation Defense LLC and Thai Aviation Industries Co., Ltd., ensuring dedicated support to maintain peak reliability and performance throughout each engine’s service life.
Dedicated Engine Support for the RTAF
Under the agreement, Pratt & Whitney Canada will deliver comprehensive maintenance solutions for the RTAF’s 12 PT6A-68 engines, providing sustained operational readiness and long-term support for Thailand’s advanced trainer fleet. “The 1,250 SHP PT6A-68 engine powering the Texan II delivers jet-like performance, exceptional power response, and precision manoeuvrability—making it ideal for pilot training,” said Scott McElvaine, Vice President, Marketing & Business Development, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “With maintenance entrusted to P&WC, RTAF pilots can fly with confidence knowing their engines are supported by the original manufacturer.”
