Saab Anticipates Positive Response At LIMA’15
Saab International (M) Sdn Bhd, a unit under the Swedish-based defence and security company, Saab, anticipates positive response at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2015 (LIMA’15).
Its Malaysian head, Thomas Linden, said the company would showcase a broad range of solutions in its portfolio at LIMA’15, which would be held from March 17-21, 2015.
Linden said the company, which would focus on military-based solutions for defence ministries, also eyed interests from other government ministries, such as home affairs, transport and others.
“Malaysia is a strategically important market for Saab and with the establishment of our office here, it signifies a long-term commitment, based on our assessments of Malaysia and its needs,” he told a media briefing here Wednesday.
He said Saab has a history of supplying defence systems to the Malaysian Armed Forces.
Saab would also feature key solutions at LIMA’15 such as the Gripen, high-tech aircraft and the Erieye airborne early warning and control system, the only operational airborne equipped with Active-Electronically Scanned Array radar, among others, he said.
