Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and Denmark’s Odense Maritime Technology Group (OMT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the harnessing of additive manufacturing for naval applications jointly.
Both parties will collaborate on potential use cases, including vessel design for small unmanned surface vessels and the development of scalable production methods. The collaboration was announced on the sidelines of IMDEX Asia 2025.
“In the fast-evolving defence technology landscape, collaboration is essential to drive innovation. We look forward to this partnership with OMT to jointly advance emerging capabilities, such as additive manufacturing, which holds significant potential for defence applications,” said DSTA’s Director Naval Systems, Mr Ong Li Koon.
“We are glad to be able to work with DSTA on this novel manufacturing concept to provide alternate means of producing small surface vessels,” said Mr Kare Groes Christiansen, CEO OMT.
