IP25 Digital 728x90px x2 250627 01Saab has been awarded an order for its Mobile Short Range Air Defence (MSHORAD) solution by the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. The contract is valued at SEK 1.8 billion, with deliveries scheduled between 2028 and 2030.

The order includes Saab’s mobile firing units based on the RBS 70 NG short-range missile system, equipped with Bolide missiles. These units will be integrated onto the MARS S-330 vehicle manufactured by Czech company SVOS.

The MSHORAD solution will also feature a command-and-control system, delivered in partnership with a Czech defence firm, and incorporate a third-party radar system already in operation with the Czech Armed Forces.

“We are proud to continue supporting the Czech Armed Forces’ capability, who already operate our RBS 70 NG air defence system in its man-portable setup. Our MSHORAD solution complements this with a highly mobile configuration, providing additional protection for troops on the move,” said Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s business area Dynamics.

Saab’s MSHORAD is a vehicle-integrated, modular, and flexible air defence system. It includes radar units for detection, mobile firing units for engagement, and a networked command-and-control interface. The system is designed for both full turnkey delivery or partial integration into existing defence infrastructures.

This contract strengthens Saab’s long-standing partnership with the Czech Republic and reinforces regional efforts to enhance mobility, flexibility, and sovereign defence capabilities in the face of evolving air threats.
